Commercial disclosure
How we get paid
OwnerRight is funded by partner commissions: when someone signs up for a product through us, the provider may pay us. That model only works if you can trust what you are shown, so this page sets out exactly how it is kept separate from the recommendations.

Today we earn nothing from anything on this site
Our rules
What compensation is not allowed to do
These are implemented in code and covered by tests, not just stated here.
- 01
Commission carries zero ranking weight
Our scoring model has twelve factors. None is commercial. A test asserts the affiliate weight is zero and fails the build if that changes.
- 02
The scoring code cannot see commercial status
Editorial assessment and partner status live in separate data structures, and partner status is never passed to the scorer. That is a structural guarantee, not a policy.
- 03
Which network a product is on changes nothing
Network identity is not an input to eligibility or scoring. A test moves a product onto the most lucrative arrangement possible and asserts the score does not move.
- 04
An unapproved relationship can never produce a tracked link
A tracked link requires an approved programme, a verified network presence, a recorded URL and a click-through we have tested. Any one missing and the link goes to the provider's own site.
- 05
Disclosure appears on the link, not only here
Where a link earns us a commission, it says so next to the link. This page is not a substitute for telling you at the point it matters.
- 06
You cannot sort or filter by our relationship
Deliberately not offered. Letting commercial status order a public list would make it a ranking signal through the back door.
- 07
We say when we have not verified something
Every record we publish says on its own page whether it has been independently re-verified against the provider.
Looking ahead
What changes when we do get paid
Worth knowing in advance, so you can judge whether we kept to it.
When a partner relationship goes live, three things change and nothing else. The outbound link for that provider becomes a tracking link. A disclosure appears beside it. The figures at the top of this page update on their own.
What does not change: the product’s position in any list, its assessment, whether it appears in your recommendations, or which alternatives we show beside it. Those are computed from your answers and our editorial judgement, and neither input knows the commercial status exists.
